Madera County Supervisors Appoint Longtime County Employee as New Chief Administrative Officer

Madera County, CA – In a unanimous vote, the Madera County Board of Supervisors appointed 20-year County employee Matthew Treber to serve as the new Chief Administrative Officer. Treber becomes just the seventh CAO in County history. Before becoming the CAO, Treber was appointed Chief of Development Services in 2020,
overseeing Economic Development, Public Works, and Water and Natural Resources Departments. Treber has had a significant hand in the strategic planning and growth of Madera County’s most recent projects, including the Rio Mesa area, guiding the development of over 19,000 acres, the construction of 26,000 new homes, and over eight million square feet of commercial space. Treber released the following statement after the vote: “I’m incredibly honored and humbled at the opportunity to lead this incredible organization, and I remain committed to serving our community with integrity, collaboration, and purpose.”
