County Supervisors Open 2026 with First-Ever Meeting Inside Oakhurst Government Center, Voting in Supervisor Macaulay as Board Chair

Madera County, CA – The Madera County Supervisors making some history in their first board meeting of the new year. Today marked the first time ever a board meeting was held inside the Oakhurst Government Center. The meeting began with the reorganization of the Board of Supervisors, where they voted for Supervisor Bobby Macaulay, who represents the mountain community, as new Board Chair for 2026 calendar year. Supervisor Jordan Wamhoff was also voted in as Chair Pro Tem.  Supervisor Macaulay, who confirmed he will not be seeking reelection this year said,

“I am deeply honored to be selected to serve as Chair of the Madera County Board of Supervisors. I am grateful for the trust my colleagues have placed in me, and I look forward to working collaboratively with our Board, staff, and community to advance our shared vision for a safer, healthier, and more prosperous Madera County. Together, we will continue to build on our progress and deliver results that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.”

The Supervisors also recognized Madera County as the Carved Bear Capital of the World and January 2026 as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
