Madera County Supervisors Present Special Proclamation to Resident Who Set a Guinness World Record on All 7 Continents

Madera County, CA – The Madera County Board of Supervisors present a special proclamation in honor of Christian Johnson, who set a Guinness World

Record after running a 50K a day for seven straight days on all seven continents. That’s more than 217 miles in all. The proclamation will also honor Christian’s mission that sparked this unprecedented journey. Christian joined forces with the Michael J. Fox Foundation to bring awareness to the ongoing battle to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease. Christian’s grandfather has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, but it didn’t keep him from greeting Christian at the final finish line in Miami to set the record. Christian’s story has not only captivated the Central Valley but has also impacted many around the world. The public and members of the media are encouraged to attend this special presentation on Tuesday at 10 A.M. inside the Chambers of the Madera County Government Center.

Post Date:02/09/2026 1:03 PM

Madera County, CA – Lights! Cameras! Puppies! Madera County’s inaugural Puppy Bowl turns into a blowout! Team ‘Bits’ was pawsitively ready for the big game, running up the score 35 to nothing over Team ‘Kibbles’ in what became the most cuddly and cutest matchup of all time. “Arlo” quarterbacked Team Bits to victory scoring 5 touchdowns and was named Most Valuable Pup! Team Kibbles and Team Bits had been training for the big game for the last couple of months practicing their zoomies, toy interceptions and nap breaks. The MadCo Puppy Bowl featured a family of Australian Cattle Dog mix puppies and will be ready for adoption soon. The game was livestreamed with announcers Stephen A. Sniff and Anderson Scooper with the play-by-play action and “Good Bunny” making a cameo at halftime. Our referee for today’s game was Ed Doghuli. Madera County has a rich tradition in the national Puppy Bowl when “Frankie” and “Niner” were featured in the 2024 game and were adopted by a family in Oregon. Madera County Animal Services is open Monday-Friday from 10 AM - 4 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM - 2 PM.
