1. Who can I honor with a brick?
You can honor any Veteran (past or present) who was honorably discharged, including family members, friends, or someone in your community who served.
2. Do they have to be from this county or area?
No. You may honor any Veteran, regardless of where they live or served.
3. Can I purchase more than one brick?
Yes! Many participants choose to honor multiple Veterans or generations of service.
4. What can I put on the brick?
Each brick includes up to three lines of custom text. 16 characters max per line.
Most people include:
- Name
- Branch of service and/or rank
- Years of service or a short message
5. Can I include a personal message?
Yes, as long as it fits within the character limits and follows engraving guidelines.
6. How much does a brick cost?
Each engraved brick is $100.
7. What does the brick look like?
It is a standard 8” x 3.75” red clay engraved brick that will be permanently installed as part of the Veterans Monument.
8. Where will the monument be located?
The monument will be located at the Department of Social Services, serving as a lasting tribute to Veterans and a place of recognition and reflection.
9. When will the bricks be installed?
Installation will occur after the ordering period closes. Specific dates will be shared with participants once finalized.
10. Is there a deadline to order?
There is no set deadline. Orders will remain open until all 250 bricks have been sold.
12. Will I be notified when my brick is installed?
Yes. The Department will host a monument reveal ceremony, and details will be shared with all participants and the local community.
13. Can I make changes after I submit my order?
No, you will not be able to make any changes after submitting your order.
14. Do you accept online orders?
No, unfortunately we only accept in-person or mail-in orders. Forms with payments will be turned into the Department of Social Services Administration Office at 1626 Sunrise Ave, Madera, Ca, 93638, Building 4 (Yellow building).
14. What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept cash or check only. Cash payments must be made in-person at the Department of Social Services Administration Office. Payments submitted by mail must be made by check only. Please make checks payable to Madera County Social Services.
15. Is my purchase tax-deductible?
No, your purchase will not be tax deductible.
