Mental Health Services Act Community Planning Process - 2019
The Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) services began in 2005, after it became law in 2004. These service are paid by a 1% tax on all people and businesses making more than a million dollars a year. MHSA requires California counties to have yearly community planning meetings to gather information from all those interested in mental health services. This information is used to set priorities for the services provided with MHSA money.
The information presented at the planning meetings will include services paid by MHSA, other mental health services.
The Madera County Behavioral Health Services Department (BHS) is looking for interested individuals and groups who would like to give their opinions and recommendations for the planning of next fiscal year’s (FY 2017-18) services. BHS will have five meetings in the month of March to inform the community about mental health and substance use services. The purpose of the meetings is to get information from the community about their service preferences. These meeting will be at the following county libraries:
