Wedding ceremonies are performed at the County Clerk's office on regular business days, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM by appointment. The room accommodates no more than 8 guests (the total number of guests includes any children, who must be supervised at all times). Couples will be held financially responsible for any damage to the ceremony room or furniture. Appointments are required. The fee for the ceremony is $50.

A marriage license must be purchased at least one business day prior to the civil ceremony performed by Madera County Clerk marriage commissioners. Same-day/Walk-in ceremonies cannot be accommodated. The County Clerk's office issues marriage licenses on regular business days from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM for a fee of $50 - $55, by appointment. These fees must be paid in cash or debit/credit (additional fees). 

Please be advised that couples must arrange to have at least one witness in attendance at the wedding if a public marriage license is obtained; there is no witness required for confidential licenses.

Spanish language ceremonies are available, please select the Spanish language service when booking your appointment. All other languages must provide a third-party translator fluent in the couple's native language and English for the ceremony and the purchase of the license.
