The local Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention Program (PHPP) aims to prevent the perinatal transmission of hepatitis B of infants born to hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) positive women. Core activities include case management of HBsAg positive pregnant women and their infants, which includes education offered to them and their close contacts. Education of medical providers and birth hospitals are also prime, along with coordination with birth hospitals to promote implementation of national perinatal hepatitis B prevention recommendations.
