Medi-Cal is a public health insurance program which provides medical coverage to eligible persons of all ages who are unable to afford the cost of their medical care. Medi-Cal members receive a Benefits Identification Card(BIC) which allows them to see doctors in the network. If your BIC card has been lost or stolen, please call (559) 675-2300.

          

Medi-Cal members select the insurance provider of their choice. In Madera County there are two choices: Anthem Blue Cross of California or CalViva. To make that selection or change your doctor, please contact Health Care Options (HCO) at (559) 675-2349 or (559) 675-2384. A representative will be available to assist with enrollment and general questions.

As a Medi-Cal member, your benefits and your child’s benefits include dental coverage at little or no cost to you. To learn more about the dental benefits available to you and your family and to find a local dentist visit the Medi-Cal Dental Program website or Smile California.

If you do not qualify for Medi-Cal, you may qualify for other health coverage through Covered California. Visit the website to find out if you and your family qualify for financial assistance to make coverage more affordable. You will be able to compare and choose health coverage that best fits your needs and budget.

The County Medical Services Program (CMSP) provides health insurance coverage for uninsured adults between the ages of 21 – 64 who are not eligible for Medi-Cal, Covered California, or other insurance programs . Find more by visiting the CMSP Counties website.
